TRIP RATINGS
Green
 No particular
difficult physical activity is involved other than easy walks, close to shore or
river kayaking or level roads. Good for families and mixed age
groups.
Blue

These are more active trips that may feature a lot of moving
around, short journeys etc. Walking will be leisurely but you should be prepared to be on your feet for several
hours. More challenging kayaking will be
involved. Some of our trips that occur at high altitude also
fall into this category. Some trips will require overnight stays.
Red

Most weekend hikers should have no trouble with our
moderate hikes. Some walking at moderate-to-high elevations and an occasional
long day with a pass crossing may be involved. Overnight stays will be fairly
common. Kayaking would be over greater distances in more challenging waters. Although no previous experience
is required, being physically fit and active are important.
Black

These treks can occur at moderate-to-high elevations with some
walking on steep and difficult trails. A few days may be long,
particularly if a pass crossing is involved, and overnight stays will be common.
Kayaking trips will be challenging and probably long. Previous mountain walking, or kayaking experience is desirable and physical fitness is highly
important.
